About This Project

What is this?

The Epstein Files Explorer is a free, open research tool that provides searchable access to unsealed court documents from Giuffre v. Maxwell (U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, Case No. 1:15-cv-07433). These documents were released to the public following court orders to unseal previously confidential materials.

Data Source

All documents are sourced from public court records available through PACER and CourtListener. Text has been extracted from PDF documents using optical character recognition (OCR) and text extraction tools. Named entity recognition (NER) was used to identify people mentioned in the documents.

How It Works

1. Document Collection: Court filings are downloaded from public repositories.

2. Text Extraction: PDF documents are processed to extract readable text using PyMuPDF and PaddleOCR.

3. Entity Extraction: Natural language processing identifies people, organizations, and other entities mentioned in the documents.

4. Indexing: Full-text search indexes enable fast searching across all document pages.

Legal Disclaimer

This site provides access to publicly available court documents. No editorial judgment is implied by the organization or presentation of these materials.

The mention of any person's name in a court document does not imply guilt, wrongdoing, or any legal liability. Many individuals are mentioned as witnesses, attorneys, or in other non-party capacities.

Text extraction and entity recognition are automated processes and may contain errors. Always refer to the original court documents for authoritative information.
